Happiness

We had the greatest lesson in Relief Society today that I had to share the main points from my notes.
Journey To Happiness:
1.  Have Hope:  Hold on, keep trying, God loves you.  One of my most favorite quotes which my mom got me for Christmas a few years ago by Elder Holland says, "Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don't come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come."  When I lived in CLT my Branch President said, "To believe is to hope."  I've always remembered this and love it.
Joshua 1:9 "Have not I commanded thee?  Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

2.  Choose Happiness:  Learn to laugh.  "The piano has already fallen, now how are you going to deal with it?

3.  Be Grateful:  Look for things to be happy with now and enjoy life now!  D&C 78:19 "And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more."

4.  Look For Happiness:  You usually find what you are looking for.  Make sure you are looking for the right things.  Fill your days with those things that matter.  President Monson once said, "May we fill our days-as much as we can-with those things that matter most."

President Faust said, "Happiness is not given to us in a package that we can just open up and consume. the problem is that too many of us try to consume happiness rather than generate it.  Our search for happiness largely depends on the degree of righteousness we attain, the degree of selflessness we acquire, the amount and quality of service we render and the inner peace that we enjoy."

One of President Monson's favorite poems"
I have wept in the night
For the shortness of sight
That to somebody's need made me blind;
But I never have yet
Felt a tinge of regret
For being a little to kind

Blessing will come when we choose happiness!

2 Nephi 9:39 the last five words spell Smile!  To be Spiritually Minded Is Life Eternal!
